MRT Jakarta is a part of DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s program to tackle with traffic problem called Macro Transportation Mode (PTM). , DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set up strategies to lessen traffic jam, which are: (1) Prioritize the development of mass public transportation mode, (2) Add up road networks and (3) Limit traffic volume and the use of personal vehicle.

Thus, the properties management and development in the station and areas surrounding can be given to PT MRT Jakarta with special rights.

The public transportation system that runs steady will support the enforcement of restriction system on vehicles, so that the personal vehicles users can switch to using public transportations.

MRT Jakarta system itself was established to answer the low mobility challenges due to a limited space to mobilize. The traffic jam caused by an imbalance between the road capacities and the volume of automobiles that went through. The advantages of MRT Jakarta system, which is reliable, on time, and affordable ticket price provides option for the personal vehicle users in particular to move to MRT. The reduced use of personal vehicles will increase space on the highway which resulted in the reduced of traffic jam and pollution level.
