The MRT Projects in Jakarta

MRT Project will start from completing 14.5 km from Lebak Bulus to Dukuh Atas. The installation of this first node will mark the beginning of creating a full network of MRT system, which will become the backbone of Jakarta transportation for the next few decades.

Extension from Dukuh Atas to Kota, as well as East-West line is planned as the next phase. This symbolizes that Jakarta will join the membership of other Asian mega cities such as Singapore, Hongkong, Bangkok, New Delhi, Seoul and Tokyo.
Basic features of the MRT shall be:
  • 12 Stations (4 undergrounds and 8 elevated)
  • 14.3 km in length (from Lebak Bulus to Dukuh Atas)
  • Several key stations will be connected with other transportation modes such as Monorail, busway, Jabotabek Railway, and Waterway.
  • Rolling stock with international standard (e.g.: air conditioned, advanced safety features)
  • Automated operation with high level of punctuality.
  • Escalators in every station.

Passenger Service Plan

MRT Project is a big leap forward from previous railway transport modes). It is unparalled in terms of comfort, speed, capacity, and reliability. In addition, it wil also be a showcase for effective and sustainable infrastructure planning.
  • Travel time: Approximate 28 minutes between Lebak Bulus – Dukuh Atas
  • Projected demand: 200,000 – 300,000 passengers per day
  • Scheduled speed 27 km / h
  • Scheduled time (one way): 31 minutes
  • Head way : 5.5 minutes
  • Total capacity in peak hour: 16,600 passengers
  • Other features: Full AC, comfort seating, clean, advanced safety features
